Rapper and podcaster GP The Beast interviews legendary prison artist C-Note on the criminal justice system and the struggles of wrongly convicted Black people.
American prison artist C-Note, who has been incarcerated for the past 27 years, under the three-strikes law for a crime he maintains he did not commit, discusses the concept of “tough on crime” laws and how they disproportionately target Black people.
Author with over 60 books, and over 5 albums, rapper, and now podcaster, GP The Beast, who has served prison time both in state and federal custody, empathizes with C-Note’s situation and says, “The system is corrupt.” They discuss the fact that many innocent people are incarcerated, and that it is difficult to get parole even when you have completed rehabilitation programs.
